Over the last 13 years, 72 students of Tsinghua University and 101 students of Kyoto University have participated in the short-term internship program. They discussed environmental technology, strengthened friendships, and enhanced cultural exchange. In addition, 16 undergraduate and graduate students were sent to CRECET from Kyoto University to conduct research. In addition, 8 students enrolled in doctoral courses at Kyoto University through CRECET, as full-time international students. After graduation, they have been playing important roles in the academic worlds of China and Japan. Students of Tsinghua University got opportunities to learn results of advanced research at Kyoto University, and more about their majors; regarding, for example, drinking water and wastewater treatment, smart cities, solid waste treatment, home appliance recycling, etc. In addition, they had a chance to study technology, history, and traditional culture, and learned about leading technology in industry through visits to prominent Japanese companies.
